Questions, Expectations & Policies:

  • Editorial/fine art portrait photography is our primary focus and service. Beyond that, we have produced model cards, head shots, family portraits and even pets when called upon. We also have a 4 set studio which can be easily converted for a number of art and creative purposes which can be rented for extremely reasonable rates when not previously committed.

  • We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear, consistent communication and dependable, measurable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it with care, integrity, and attention to detail that truly sets us apart. And of course, our portraits are editorial, not traditional, which means you get a stronger sense of cultural importance when you see your finished pieces when you choose J. Thomas over most others.

  • We begin with a $300 deposit when you book. This is a placeholder and will convert to a credit towards your reveal session and final masterpiece depictions. Our collections and options start at $500 and offer a variety and flexibility for all budgets. Most clients can expect to spend between $700-2400, although there is no obligation at all (we let the art speak for itself).

  • All fine-art pieces are printed on premium archival materials and shipped directly to your home.

    Digital Deliveries:
    Digital portrait files are delivered electronically via secure download link on the same day your order is finalized.

    Physical Deliveries:
    Orders are processed within 1–3 business days and production begins. Completed orders are shipped within 5–7 business days via insured courier. You’ll receive an email with tracking once your artwork is on its way.

    Shipping Regions: Continental United States.
    Delivery Time: Typically 5–7 business days from completion date.
    Shipping Costs: Included with paid portrait orders.

  • Each print and digital artwork file is custom-produced to order, but we want you to love your purchase.

    Physical Prints: If your print arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 14 days of delivery at inquire@jthomasphotoworks.com with photos of the damage. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund right away.

    Digital Files: Due to the nature of digital delivery, all digital artwork sales are final once delivered. However, if you experience any technical issue downloading your files please contact us within 14 days, we’ll resend or reissue access immediately.

    Returns are accepted only for damaged or defective physical items.

  • If you miss or cancel your appointment, your deposit is forfeit. We have a staff who will need to be compensated for the time they committed to your visit regardless.

    Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours of purchase if production has not begun.

    Digital artwork orders may not be cancelled.

  • J. Thomas reserves artistic control over the design and content of each session. We may decline to create certain types or styles of photography. We may refuse to produce images at some sizes or combinations of sizes if we believe those images could be detrimental to our reputation. Discuss your requirements with the studio before the session.

  • We reserve the right to refuse service if, in our opinion, providing service is likely to cause or has caused disruption to staff or the normal operation of business.

  • Non attendance without notice results in forfeiture of the holding or deposit fee.

  • Unrestricted copyright to all images created during the photo shoot belongs solely to J. Thomas Enterprises, LLC. Your purchase of images either physical or digital will be accompanied with an unlimited use and release agreement which allows your to display or utilize those images without recourse.

  • We do not provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind. J. Thomas Photoworks, The Lab Creative Studios & J. Thomas Enterprises, LLC stands behind our work. If you are not fully satisfied with your portrait, refer to the policy on your agreement or order form.

  • By submitting your information, you agree to receive SMS notifications, reminders, and occasional marketing messages from J. Thomas Enterprises, LLC and it’s related namesakes.

    Messages may include session confirmations, reminders, preparation details, or promotional content.

  • J. Thomas offers flexible low or no interest payment plan options to help you pay for artwork over time. All plans must be authorized by signature on the invoice at the time of sale. Installments must be direct debited from a credit or debit card according to the agreed schedule. Physical artwork will not proceed to finishing until the invoice total has been paid in full. You may make additional payments or pay off early at any time.

  • If a scheduled payment is declined, we will attempt to reprocess the payment on the next business day. If the second attempt is unsuccessful and 14 days pass from the failed payment date, we will issue a notice to rectify the overdue amount. If your account remains unpaid 30 days after the original notice, we may initiate a debt collection process. Any associated fees will be your responsibility. A dishonor fee of $25 will be applied for each unsuccessful payment attempt. If your credit card number or expiration date changes for any card used for recurring payments, you must notify the studio as soon as possible to avoid interruption.
